“SOC 2 Type II attestation lowers the risk profile of our product and service offering,” Michael notes,” Michael notes. “As a result, clients spend less time on security due diligence, accelerating the contracting process.”

For other CTOs and founders beginning their compliance journey, Michael advises you pick your auditor early so you can build a relationship before it’s time for your audit. 

“Try to pick your auditor early and get their list of tests and evidence requirements up front,” he says. “While GRC tools provide helpful guidance, auditors often have additional requirements that you’ll need to plan time for.”
